Biochem/physiol Actions
Primary TargetChanges in cell morphology and motility
Cell permeable: no
Reversible: no
Product does not compete with ATP.
General description
Induces changes in cell morphology and motility with no effect on sugar transport. Used as a specific marker in studies of high affinity cytochalasin binding sites unrelated to sugar transport. Disrupts the equilibrium between monomeric and polymeric actin.
